Simpson joined the ECSU Sports Medicine Staff in 2025, continuing to serve as Assistant Director of Sports Medicine. In the Fall of 2026, she will begin her tenure as the Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams.
Prior to ECSU, Claudia spent a year and a half as the athletic trainer at Hillside High School in Durham, NC where she was responsible for all their student-athletes and taught Sports Medicine.
Claudia graduated from Florida State University in 2022 with her master's degree in exercise physiology - sports sciences. While in Tallahassee, Claudia served as the head athletic trainer for Tallahassee Community College, now known as Tallahassee State College. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training.
Claudia is a board-certified, licensed athletic trainer (LAT, ATC) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).
