The Vikings Fight Back, but Fall to Frostburg State 0-2

Murfressboro, N.C. -The Vikings fought back in a tough 0-2 doubleheader loss on Saturday February 29th and Sunday March 1st against Frostburg State at Chowan University.

SCORES:
Game 1: ECSU 1, Frostburg State University 11
Game 2: ECSU 3, Frostburg State University 6

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1:
  • In the first inning the Bobcats Powell Stole second and Hanson scored on the throw leading to a quick 5-0 lead.
  • ECSU Saunders, L reached on the fielding on an error by SS, RBI; Wright, C who advanced to third as Griffin, A scored.
  • The Bobcats struck out in the second.
  • Vikings hit a double up the middle in the bottom of the second, but failed to come away with a score.
  • FSU struck out in the top of the third.
  • ECSU's Ryan, H hit a single in the bottom of third, advancing Mugaas to second. 
  • FSU went on to holding the Viking to one in the remaining innings. 
 
Game2 
  • ECSU's Flanagan ,K. doubled to left field, 2 RBI; GRIFFIN,A. scored; Komives,S. also brought one in for the Vikings.
  • FSU answered back with Aliyah Ramey hitting doubled into right center; RBI; Amber Keene scored in the second.
  • The Bobcats took the third inning scoring twice. 
  • The Vikings Wright, C stole second; setting up Griffin, A to score off the throw.
  • FSU closed out the game with a hit from Aliyah Ramey singled to left field center, RBI Hanlon advanced to second; Krause scored, unearned.
 
UP NEXT: 
 The Vikings take on Davis and Elkins College at home in a double header set for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
