Final Stats
ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State Vikings swept Virginia State University 6-0 and 4-2 Tuesday afternoon at Holmes Field.
In game one Deshaun Fletcher improved to 5-0 as a starter as the Vikings captured their third shutout of the year. ECSU scattered nine hits led by Nick Johnson who went 3-4 with 3 RBI in game one. The Trojans stranded seven runners as they were held scoreless for the eighth time this season.
In the second game the Trojans scored two runs of in the top of the third only to have them negated by two Viking scores in their half of the inning. ECSU tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning and Thomas Rose pitched a complete game to move his record to 2-0.
